FOUNDER STORY

Born From a Frustration.
Built From a Passion.

Mellow Art started with a simple frustration: there weren't enough spaces for small, independent artists to share their work with the world.

Since running our first art market in September 2022, Mellow Art has grown into a creative platform for emerging artists, illustrators, crafters, and small business owners with a love for art, stationery, and merchandise.

We strive to create cosy, welcoming opportunities for creatives to showcase their work to the public and build a tight-knit artist community in the heart of Melbourne (and interstate!). Beyond markets, we've expanded into art jams and workshops to cater to our growing audience.

The People Behind It All

Cindy
Co-Founder/ Director
Co-founder Cindy plans and curates Mellow Art’s creative concepts alongside Co-founder Alison. Cindy is constantly brimming with ideas and is your local-friendly extrovert! She is obsessed with all things cute, cuddly and pink. By day, Cindy is a veterinarian 🐶🐱🐾 and by night, she runs Mellow Art! You’ll find her in little cafes 🍰🍵, journaling and going crazy over stickers! Cindy is still a little shy with her own art (@cinnabells) but she’s trying to love her art a little more!
Alison
Co-Founder / Direction
Co-founder Alison (@alittleali_) is an Architecture Graduate by day and an artist/ small biz owner by night! Ali develops Mellow Art’s graphics and makes sure that every event venue is planned with efficiency! She loves stickers, stationery and anything CUTE. Drawing brings her so much joy, and she enjoys turning her illustrations into stickers to share with all of you! She’s a super SHY introvert, and if she looks 😐 from the outside, she promises she’s 😀 inside.
Jane
Administration
Jane, an Allied Health Assistant student, loves to crochet🧶, all cute things and anything with Snoopy! Our crochet queen can whip up cute flower bouquets🌷🌻and even trendy beanies. You’ll find Jane assisting Cindy and Ali with administrative tasks, customer support, as well as assisting at events to make sure everything runs smoothly!
Angela
Event / Media
Angela, a graphic designer and photographer, is an avid collector of art prints and cute stationery! She is obsessed with anything strawberry and apple-themed 🍓🍎 , loves the colour green 🍀 , and enjoys cozy games in her free time. You’ll find her assisting with front of house at events or catch her running around with her camera  📷lovingly documenting sweet Mellow memories.
